Tequila poker is a combination of two popular cards games, blackjack and poker. The game is not played against the dealer or other players. Winning or loosing depends on predetermined values.
Tequila poker consists of two different games. First there is high tequila and second there’s tequila poker. Both games are pretty much the same though. There's just a small difference in the rules of both poker variants. We’ll explain the differences between the two tequila poker variants later in this edition of ‘game rules explained’
Exclusively online
Tequila poker can only be found in online casinos. Tequila poker was developed in 2005 as a result of the rising popularity of the diverse poker variants. Getting started
The player will place an ante bet. Next the banker will deal 4 cards, all faced up on the table. After the 4 cards have been dealt, the player has to decide which of the two games he likes to play. Folding is also an option, folding means losing the original (ante) bet.
Continuing with high tequila or tequila poker means doubling your ante bet with a bet we call the main bet. When a player decides to continue the game, the banker will deal two more cards.
High tequila
Playing high tequila means creating a 5-card hand with as much points as possible. All cards are ranked Blackjack value (see table)

According the game rules, the 5 highest cards will count when playing high tequila. As you can see in the table above, aces are always counted as value 11. When a player has a winning hand he wins even money on his ante bet. The pay out ratios on the main bet can be found in the following table.
