About blackjack

Blackjack is always played against the dealer. There can be more players around the blackjack table but they all play against the banker. Besides the regular blackjack game there are various other blackjack variants available. Crazy blackjack, 5-hand blackjack and blackjack switch are just a few examples of blackjack variants. All blackjack variants have their own rules. The differences in rules are very limited though.

Pick a blackjack table and place your bets

The first thing to do is pick an appropriate table. Every blackjack table has its own limits, the game rules are the same at every table. Pick the blackjack table that fits your needs best. If you are a high roller, for instance, you can pick a €25 - €500 table. This means that the minimum bet is €25 and the maximum is €500. Of course you can also pick a €1 - €40 table. Some online casinos will offer you multiplayer tables. Take your time to find the right table. After entering a blackjack room, place a bet by putting the right amount of chips on the table.

Let's get started

After placing the bets, press deal. The dealer deals 2 cards. The dealer hands out cards to every player, including himself. You will only play against the dealer, so you won't play against the other players. The dealer will start by the seat to his left. This place is called first base. You can beat the dealer by holding the hand closest to 21 without going bust. To go bust is one of the most basic blackjack rules is losing by exceeding the amount of 21 points. After receiving the first two cards, you will have the following options:

Stand: You are satisfied with the two cards you have. No more cards for you.

Hit: Ask for another card

Split: Received 2 cards of equal value? You are allowed to split the pair and play each as an individual hand. This is an option and certainly not always the best thing to do!

Double: Double your bet and receive just one more card

Blackjack: You win! One card valued as 10 and an ace. Payout 3:2

Insurance: Insurance protects the player against a blackjack from the dealer. If the dealer turns an Ace, you can choose 'Insurance' This is a bet as high as half your original bet. If you'll take insurance the dealer will check the other card. Is it a card valued at 10 points? You will win back the insurance.

Five simple Blackjack rules

  1. Once the dealer has Blackjack, the player loses.
  2. Once the player has Blackjack, he wins and the dealer doesn't.
  3. When the dealer and the player have an equal number of points it is called a push
  4. When nobody has Blackjack, every player plays his hand in turn.
  5. When you're busted the dealer won't play his hand anymore

The rules concerning the card values in blackjack

2 - 10
These cards are valued at their face value.

Face Cards (kings, queens and jacks)
These three cards all have a value of 10.

Ace
11 or 1. When an ace is valued at 11, it is 'soft' 11. This is because it can also still be valued as 1. Its value will change to 1 if you're busted with an additional card. This means that you can continue playing because you are not really busted (because the soft '11' is turned into 1, 10 points are deducted from your points total so that you are below 21 again).

Card suits
When playing blackjack the suits of the cards can be ignored. So whether you have a queen of spades or a queen of hearts, both cards are valued the same.

Blackjack
According to blackjack rules, a Blackjack is valued higher than a hand valued at 21. Blackjack is the best ranked hand. 21 the second best hand.

Five most useful blackjack tips

  1. Always stand at 17.
  2. Recieved two 10-valued cards? Split them up! Same for 8's and aces.
  3. Never play by useless betting systems, they don't work!
  4. Recieved two cards with total value 11? Double!
  5. Take insurance, when possible.
Chips are tokens used in both online and land based casinos. These tokens can be bought at the cashier. When you start gambling you have to use these chips to place a bet.
When a players asks for a card.
A player of Blackjack can bet the dealer will get Blackjack when his first card is an ace.
When you, during a blackjack game, receive two cards which happen to be the same (2 aces for example) you can both play them as a separate hand.
A player’s decision not to receive any more cards during a card game.
The first player on the left side of the dealer at a game of Blackjack
The person who deals the cards during a card game.
The Roulette wheel with only one zero.
After recieving the first two cards in a game of Blackjack, the double option gives the player the opportunity to recieve just one more card and double his original wager.
This is a player who likes high wagers. The average casino player places only places relatively small bets. A high roller is unlike the average player and is not afraid to bet significant amounts in chase of big winnings.
