Málaga Club de Fútbol considers to replace its shirt
sponsor. The new owner of the Spanish football club declared that his consideration is based on religious motives. Málaga CF is one of the most historical Andalusian football clubs. William Hill is the number one online bookmaker in the UK.
Qatari sheikh
Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani took over Málaga CF in June. The Qatari sheikh paid €10.5 million while he also took over the €36 million debt of the Spanish football club. Due to his religion he considers to replace William Hill as shirt sponsor. Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani is a believer of Islam, which forbids gambling.

Graham Sharpe, media relations director at William Hill, commented the
William Hill sponsorship contract that was to run until 2012. “We know that Málaga CF has a new owner and we are discussing the sponsorship contract. However, we remain their shirt sponsor until further notice.”
