Betsson buys poker operator Betfriends

Online gambling company Betsson has acquired Betfriends. Betsson is headquartered in Malta and offers online gambling. Betfriends has a customer base of 4.000 players and offers online sports betting and casino entertainment. Betsson’s press release didn’t reveal the acquisition price. The acquisition should improve Betsson’s deteriorating online poker activities.

“This acquisition should boost our poker activities. The poker industry has experienced a declining trend for some time,” Pontus Lindwall, Betsson’s chief executive officer, stated. It’s unclear how the acquisition affects Betfriends’ network home and what the consequences are for its management team.
