According to recent Australian study performed by the Education Department’s Gambling project for youngsters there is a strong rise of gambling teenagers. Main reason for this study was to learn more about the gambling habits of Australian students.
It seemed that the traditional gambling popularity, in contradiction to cardgames, reduced with large numbers over the past 6 years. With traditional gambling we mean games like Roulette, Scraps and Slots.
The number of cardgames which were played increased gigantic though. More than 27% of the examined students frequently plays cardgames in their beloved sparetime. Most of the gamblers are male, females are less likely to gamble.
Cardgames are big business nowadays. Poker Tournaments at Eurosport, Las Vegas the TV series, and a dozen of movies about pokering and Casinos. All this media attention attributed to the rising star of games like Poker and Blackjack.
