When it is up to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of the USA, online gambling esthablisments must hand over a tax report by future poker pay-outs of more than $ 5,000. In our opinion this is a bit of a strange wish from a government who wants to close down the online gaming industry at one side, but still is interested in its money on the other site. We believe Americans use the word “greedy” for such behaviour, although the word “hypocritical” even might be better. Online casinos have to pass on players statistics to the IRS so that they can calaculate how much tax every player owes them. This measurement will make sure that poker players cannot hide from taxes anymore. If players won’t pass on their winnings the IRS still knows the amount won because of the information given by the online casinos. The first proposal of the IRS was to withold 25% tax on every amount won by online casino players.
